Your authors and hosts are students in the writing, literature, and publishing program at Emerson College in Boston:
| Alice Barry | Alice loves watching movies, reading classic books, and hanging out with dogs. She loves to cook and enjoys exploring new areas of Boston. |
| Donesia Cummings | Writer, home cook, fearless leader of her clan. D.R. was born and raised in Trinidad, and emigrated to Boston in 1988 in the midst of what would be declared to anyone within earshot, as the “coldest December ever!” She has a flair for the dramatic, but can cook her ass off and write one hell of a story. |
| Desiree DeMarco | Hey everyone, I’m Desiree. I was born and raised in Florida, got my bachelors degree from Florida State University, and I recently moved to Boston, MA to pursue my masters degree at Emerson College in publishing and writing. I love and miss my bulldog, Sam, and spend my weekends binging Netflix shows and scarfing down whole pints of Ben & Jerry’s Boom Chocolatta! cookie core ice cream. |
| Lillian Dunaj | Hi all! I just moved to Boston from Gainesville, Florida. Other than exploring and getting acquainted with the city, I like to crochet and play Stardew Valley. I have a wonderful, though sometimes crazy, cat named Cookie who is also trying to adjust to his new home. |
| Casey Koutris | Casey Koutris is a graduate student at Emerson College with a B.A. in English and two minors in political science and journalism from IUP. He is often ensorcelled in the inescapable dualities of turnabout and turmoil. In more carefree moments, he is commonly found drowning in wine, dancing in moon-wrought madness, lamenting Greece’s recent Eurovision placings, and being miffed about video games. |
| Marissa Massey | I moved to Boston specifically for the Writing and Publishing program at Emerson. After I complete my master’s degree, I will be heading home to Kentucky to work at a local publishing house, and, hopefully, I’ll eventually teach at my alma mater. I’m also a writer who is working on two fiction novels, and a memoir. |
| Cordelia Miller | I’m a marketing professional creating compelling digital content about health care and finance. I also love reading, petting dogs, trying new types of vegan ice cream, and spending time outside. |
| Lauren Mitchell | Lauren Mitchell graduated magna cum laude from the College of Charleston in 2017 with a BA in English and creative writing and is currently working as a part-time bookseller. In her free time, she loves reading young adult novels, watching Disney movies, playing video games (especially JRPGs), and–when she gets to visit her home in the Carolinas–snuggling with her four cats. |
| Iris Pena | Iris is a graduate student in the Publishing and Writing MA program at Emerson College. She also completed her BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing at Emerson College. She is very interested in the publishing industry and its various aspects, and uses her coursework to explore what particular field in publishing she would like to pursue. |
| Jackie Schreuer | Hi, I’m Jackie. I use they/them pronouns, don’t like capitalism, and am a big fan of the ectoplasm color scheme. |
| Rachel Sparks | Rachel is a graduate candidate for Publishing and Writing at Emerson College. She is also a marketing intern at Harvard’s COACHE project and an editor and writer for Cupid’s Pulse. She impulsively moves. A lot. The dream: Sparkshire, a farm with silk fainting goats and an herb garden where she can live the writing life. She likes to make pickles. |
The podcast’s opening song is “Up and Down“by Vicnet; the closing song is “April Showers” by ProleteR. Both songs were chosen by Katelyn Eelman. Pubcast album artwork and the site’s banner image are by Maria Murray.
